Battery charger possible issue

My boat has a Xantrex Trucharge 2 battery charger. It's my fifth season with the charger and the battery bank.

In past seasons, when I turned on my fridge, I would see the voltmeter drop a bit, then hear the battery charger fan kick on, and the voltmeter go back up to normal levels.

Yesterday, I did the same thing, but didn't hear the fan. The battery output indicator light was on the <5% output level. Strange.

Appears my charger isn't charging as fast as it used to.

Would this be an issue with the 5 year old batteries or with my battery charger?

I live up north so my season is only May thru Sept. Plus, I never ran the fridge an entire summer. I would only run when I need it, to save the batteries and the charging cycle.

Ideas welcome.

I was wondering about that, but my charger lights are on when I turn the nav panel switch on, and off when I turn the switch off. I am not educated at all in electronics, but would the fuse not cut off the power to the charger? Thanks for the help; I appreciate it.

if you have power to the charger..... then do you have the charge wires fused to the batts
there should fuses to the bats on your charge wires coming from the charger

Also check connections. If the connection from the charger to the battery is bad, then the charger may be at full voltage, but due to the poor connection low/no charging current will be flowing.

What voltage are you seeing at the battery bank?
