All,

New to the Hunter group.

I would like to move my traveler, currently located on top of the arch inboard.

Has anyone done this or have any experience in doing this?

Thanks,

Steve, welcome aboard! Are you saying move the entire traveler, or just the fittings at the end where you trim it? Fiberglass or stainless arch?

Ed,

Fittings are on top of a fiberglass arch. I still want the traveler on top of the arch, but want to be able to trim without having to hang outside the cockpit.

I'm getting to old (no longer bullet proof) to hang outside the lifelines to trim...even with a harness on and clipped in.

Looking at a H310, I think I can move a block outboard a little, and either go through the glass arch and come inside the cockpit.

Thanks,
Steve

Got it. You must have a pre-1999, our hull number 262 routes the traveler lines into the arch and down to a cam cleat just above the seatback. I believe someone else asked this question a few years back, and decided the modifications were too extensive, but here's some pictures of our '99 H340 that might help you assess your options.

Thanks, Ed.

You are correct - my boat is a 1998 model.

The pictures look to be the same setup as on the H310. I do not have the flat area that the block rests on that allows the line down into the arch and cam cleat.

I think I saw a picture that had a stainless extention with a block on the end that allowed the line to go down to a cam cleat inside the cockpit. Need to explore that option.

Fair winds to you, my friend.
