Caliber 40 Long Range Cruiser Portland, Maine
After nearly 4 years of prep and saving we threw off the lines today and became full time cruisers. We sailed from Portland to Christmas Cove for our first stop on our way to Nova Scotia and spending the summer cruising the Canadian Maritimes. We are looking forward to meeting new people, seeing beautiful places, forgetting what day of the week it is and spending lots of time exploring and adventuring.

Good look. Fair winds and safe passages. It sounds like you are in for the adventure of a lifetime. A lot of people here envy you, including me!!!!

Nice! I've recently invested in the resurrection of a wristwatch that displays the day and date, but could understand the reasons for not wanting such a contrivance.

Have fun!

I just spent most wonderful 4 months cruising Sea of Cortez. You're going to really enjoy this. Best of fair winds and calm seas for you! Enjoy. I was 70 at the time. As they say, "Just Do It!"

I really envy you. I would like to do this also, but probably will never get the chance. My wife wants nothing to do with it. She barely tolerates a one month vacation on the boat every summer. Good luck...fair winds and great adventures!

Congratulations, Tim.

Can you tell us a bit about the kind of hydronic heater you installed that allowed you to live-aboad over the winter at DeMillos?

Fair winds,

Tim, good on ya, as the Aussies say.
I hope you will be keeping a concise log of your travels in the Maritimes as it is one of the places we'd like to spend at least one season exploring. We'll trade you info on the Antilles, what do you say?

Be sure and stop in St. Andrews, New Brunswick on your cruise. We have a small but great Club that always welcomes visiting cruisers. We're always open to guests aboard Mysterious Ways, but if we don't happen to be around when your there feel free to use our mooring, its well marked and is sound.

Thanks Mountie(I picture a red uniform with the hat!) but we will likely check into Canada at Grand Manan and then head to Yarmouth from there. Maybe on the way back in the fall though.
