After 15 months as new sailboat owners my buddy and I just finished a trip to Princess Louisa Inlet and it was fantastic. Lots of motoring but some fun sailing in there as well. I decided to try my hand at iMovie and made a video out of some of pictures and video clips I took. If you're interested you can find it at

Most of you will notice errors in sail setup (such as my reefing problem) but I'm new and in the end for me it's just about the pure pleasure of being on the water.

To anyone who is in the Pacific Northwest I can highly recommend the trip. I'm very glad to have gone in early May as I've heard it can be very busy and lots of big powerboats to potentially ruin the atmosphere.

Oh my oh my--what a way to start the morning watching your excellent and well done video of going to Princess Louisa. You brought back many wonderful memories. I doubt if I'll ever go again but I can wish. You did a wonderful job of picking out sights and sounds of the Pacific Northwest and of the trip to Princess Louisa.

I doubt if you would have tried it in early May when you went but all those little waterfalls around Chatterbox Falls are used in the summer for showers. The rocks warm up in the morning and afternoon sun and heat the water coming down. We were told if you see a dinghy tied in front of a waterfall, don't go in. They are showering. It was true.

And another thing.....you should empty your water tanks when you get there and refill with the water from Chatterbox. It is the sweetest and soft water I have ever tasted but then it had just come down over several thousand feet of rocks, tumbling this way and that.

We're Life Members of the Princess Louisa Society. If you get a chance look up the web site and if inclined join a special group dedicated to taking care of the place.

Thank you ever so much in letting us see your youtube presentation. For many, it will bring back found memories. Thank you.

Les

Thanks Les. It's my pleasure to share and appreciate the kind words. Yes I did get a pamphlet about the society and will consider joining. It is a rare gem. Meantime we paid the suggested $20 per night donation.

Great video! But, you're making my life difficult as I sit here in Edmonton thinking about our boat moored at Hornby Island, 1400km and 3 ferries rides to the west. Princess Louisa is on our cruising menu for this season. You may have just accelerated it up our priority list. Well done. Bob

Wow, very cool. There's clearly quite a bit of history.
