Portsmouth or PHRF Rating for O'Day 222

Does anyone have information on a Portsmouth or PHRF rating for the O'Day 222. I am considering becoming involved in racing at our local club. According to club rules we need a minimum of four boats for a "one design" class (or only three with race director approval). Unfortunately, we only have two 222's in the club.

Any info will be appreciated.

And, a comment for Bill1565 -- I think your respond was incorrect and inappropriate. I see nothing wrong with asking questions related to O'Day boat on the O'Day forum. That's why we subscribe the forum -- to share information, and help fellow O'Day owners, whatever
the question relating to an O'Day manufactured boat.

PHRF Handicaps will vary by region. The New England base rating is 261. Headsail size and several other factors will affect the rating.

The Club's handicapper should be able to give you a PHRF rating.

Jackdaw, that looks like a lot of fun. Our Flying Scot fleet had a Spinnaker "Crew U" this weekend, and then I did a clinic on dock lines and storm prep. Then the storm really did roll in, with gusts of at least 20 knots in the marina, measured on my little wind thingie. For sure they were higher out on the lake. I wound up holing up in the boat while the rains came for about an hour. Coxcombed the compression post, no more cold stainless steel while sleeping in the v-berth!
