Chartering a Macgregor

I have a charter company in the North Channel of Lake Huron Canada.
Right now I have 2 MacGregor 26Ds.

Not exactly near Virginia though. Macs aren't very common charter boats, so you may have better luck simply finding someone local who owns one and trying to get a tour from them....unless a vacation to the North Channel appeals to you.

Has anyone pulled there Mac that far to cruise the North Channel before?
StinkBug has a good point. I would go to a local marina and find someone that has a MacGregor and ask them about it. Then ask to go out in it.
You will be surprised.
(I did this in Port Stanley Ont. the summer before I got my first boat. Last summer while on vacation in another Provence I called a local yacht club and asked if my wife and I could go out with any of the members. They said sure! Get here early on the race days. We had a great time on a J30 and made a bunch of new friends too! )
Sailors are really nice people! Most of them anyway.

I have a 26s but I am putting in up I deltaville. I might be able to take you for a short sail one day or show you around the boat. It would probably be a weekday tho because my family goes on weekends.

The North Channel is considered the best freshwater sailing on the planet. We get people towing their boats from Oklahoma, Georgia, Tennessee, Minnesota, and all places between. Get a few from Texas on occasion too. So it would definitely be worth the drive - especially now that you can charter a Mac and not have to tow.

On May 4the, 6 days ago, a member here told me "there still looks like alot of ice on the channel around Honora Bay, Clapperton & to the north."
He lives on the South side of the island and also said he could put his boat in because the ice was gone there.
It certainty doesn't look like the trees are budding like here.
I was talking with a friend last Sat. that just purchased a boat in Midland. He was going to wait to sail it to Sarnia because there were still ice warnings on Georgian Bay. It should be ice free in the Bay now.

Hey Marty, perhaps you should be chartering ice-breakers instead! Then you'd get 8 or 9 months of chartering a year!
