second in line water pump at stern shower?

I have a good strong water pump that I replaced last year and at the same time fitted a pressure accumulator. My stern shower has poor water pressure due to the distance from the pump, so I was wondering if I can simply add in an additional water pump down at the stern shower to boost pressure down there- is there any reason I shouldn't do this??

You should check for a restriction to the aft shower! We have good pressure at ours! Maybe something in the line to the head?

I don't think you can put pumps together in series like that.
If the first pump isn't putting out enough pressure and volume, the second pump will starve on the suction side and won't do any good anyway.

If you have a dock water hose connection hook that up and try your shower. If the pressure is low I'd suspect a constriction somewhere. If the pressure is fine then I'd suspect your pump.

Can't do it

Pumps in series don't work.
Your problem is likely owing to a little known fact.
Stern shower hoses have a check valve built in. This is mandated, as they are used in RVs. If the shower head accidentally fell into a bucket of poisonous crap, you wouldn't want that siphoning back to your fresh water tank.
So, a check valve is put in.
If you remove this check valve, your pressure will increase.
Also, make sure no kinks in the hose

Good to know about the check valve. Bet its not a big job to clean it so that it works properly again.

Being in the Rv business for 30 years it is nice to know of a built in check valve , never heard of it but the shower heads do have water saver washers in them that can be removed

I had low flow also. I removed the washer in mine and got way too much water flowing. I drilled the hole a little bigger in the washer and put back. All is well in my stern shower now.
