My two wooden cupholders on both sides of the cockpit on my 23.5 have rotted away and broke. Does anybody know where I can get replacements, maybe made out of plastic?

Phil Herring;

If you will look at the photos on the 23.5 under boat information, you will see two grooved teak slates one on port and the other of course on starboard on the top of the cockpit coaming just aft of the companionway. Originally, they were for covers only with no holes cut in them for cup holders. Later, I do recall holes cut out for the plastic cup holder which you did advise correctly.

Can you make the teak slats with holes for the plastic cup holders for this fellow. I do not have the deminisions nor am I near a 23.5. Sorry about that sir. I hope this helps you.

Hercguy:

Take a photo so Phil Herring will see what I think you are talking about and post to this thread.

Thank you to Phil and Hercguy.

Just happen to have mine off my 95 23.5 .They are 15 x4 1/2 x 9/16 .No cup holders in mine.Being a carpenter dont think they are wide enough to drill for cups.Maybe some other material would work better.

Should fit but the deminsions for the 23.5 are posted, so ask them for those deminsions of the 240 boards.

Phil;\

If you are reading, can you respond to this question sir.

$139.50 apiece.You have to be kidding.That must be hand delivered,installed,and supplied with beer for the season to fit the cupholder!!!

Yeah, that's pretty high but we don't get to choose what we pay for parts, either.

It's hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like these have a rounded edge? Based on the dimensions all we could do is make a rectangular plank, but if someone can send me one to use as a pattern we can certainly make a batch, which will bring the cost down substantially. Starboard might be the best material.

I just set this thread up for immediate notification so i can keep closer tabs on it. :) Sorry for the delay.

Phil, I have one off the starboard side. I'm going to shop around at home and see what I can come up with to duplicate it. If you would like the old one as a template I can send it your way.

I would love it! Matter of fact, if you'll send it to me we'll make a replacement for you at no cost. I'll PM our address to you.

Phil is correct as teak and delrin plastics are very expensive. Phil makes a living but knowing what he charges is not only very reasonable but built with professionalism and generally is cheaper than most places you could look at. Thank you Phil
