Anyone near Port Clinton, Ohio?

We are interested in a boat in Port Clinton but after a few long distance disappointments we are reluctant to spend 2 days on the road plus hotel and food so soon after the last trip. Would anyone in the area be inclined to do a little pre-visit inspection for us to see if it's worth a trip? Not sure how often this gets asked but I figured this is what the forum family does for one another. We can certainly compensate for your time if you'd like.

Where is the boat at? Our boat is docked on Catawba. I am sure we will be there some time in the next week.

Danny, i am still waiting on the particulars. The boat is currently shrink wrapped which is being removed Monday. Thank you!

kper, Catawba Island is located next to Port Clinton - I could take a look for you if you'd like. We're located on Catawba Island and have been sailing Lake Erie for the past 25 years. Many businesses on Catawba Island use the Pt Clinton as the address since Catawba Island is a township and no post office. So it's likely the boat you're looking at is here vs in town (Pt. clinton). PM me the details and I'll take a look for you

Hey Kper, Too bad the boat in Lincoln did not work out. Last Saturday, I was rigging my boat and the guy next to me is selling his S2. I looked it over pretty good. e-mail me if you want details. It is in the water, and you could sail it anytime.

As captn tj said Catawba and Port Clinton are basically the same place. Let me know I would be glad to take a look at it.

I agree, too bad that Lincoln boat didn't work out. We had the cash in hand and had to walk away - was tough to do. One thing I was looking for was standing headroom and I don't think the S2 has that, although I could be wrong.

It has 6' or very near it. Mast and standing rigging and I think sails are newer. Trailer needs tires immediately. Very clean hull. I think it had a shoal type keel and a steel drop down centerboard. He is a two boat owner!

We have a sailboat at Marblehead (Port Clinton area) and will be up there weekends from now till Fall.
Where is the boat you are interested in?
We could probably get you photos and maybe nose around a bit for you...
