Driving home from work this evening I chanced to see an Oday 22 for sale. Curiosity getting the better of me I stopped and a strange feeling of recognizing this particular boat came over me. The registration number seemed distantly familiar as did the two small jib winches. Jotting down the registration number and HIN I proceeded on my way. Arriving home I immediately pulled out some ancient photos only to discover the boat I had just seen was indeed my former boat that I had purchased new right out of the showroom back in 1978. Nice thing about New York is the registration numbers remain the same with only the owner information being changed. Indeed NY 8928 PP was obvious in the photos. So anyone want to take a shot at the odds of this happening after so many decades?

Not too surprising I'd guess, considering that these plastic boats seem to be set to last a century if someone just gives them a little love.

Now if it had been an old wooden boat you had bought....

That's pretty neat and yes, I agree with Indy. Buy it! or at least see what they are asking. It would be pretty neat to keep as an easy project boat when you can't sail YOT.
