First glance at the pix on the trailer I'd say Paceship, sail logo would indicate a Tanzer. I'm sure I'll be corrected on both scores.

on the stern (under a faded oval logo) - is a hull# that starts with TAN... (maybe on the right track!)

My guess is its a Tanzer 16. IIRC they made some with a cuddy cabin but most were daysailers.

(I would be out sailing, but my boat, Hunter 22 Daysailer isnt here yet)

I think Joe wins the prize. Tanzer called the cuddy cabin version "Constellation" and in later life "Weekender"
Working on Wife's car today.

OOPS .. yeah.. Overnighter instead of Weekender.

That version of the Tanzer day sailer was called the Tanzer Overnighter.

Not sure how many were built.
We used to have a Tanzer 22 fleet in Portland, but I only ever saw one or two of the T-16 models.

and if sail #252 was built in 1973, mine (sail #328) would be about .. 1975?

(thanks you guys, you make a newbie feel welcome)

- thanks -- any idea what that bungee cord from the shrouds to the halyard is doing?
it keeps the mast from sounding like a cowbell if the halyard is allowed to slap against it...

(as to your tag line ...) this little boat is called "The Elsie" after the old lady who gave it to my son. She had it parked in her carport for a decade or so, and used it as a cat house (for dozens of feral cats) until she was forced into a nursing home and her cats were rounded up by the pound police. Cleaning up a cat house is TLC in the extreeeeme.
