Congratulations! Looks like you are already motivated to do maintenance, a very important attribute. I think that embracing maintenance as a learning experience rather than dreading it as an inconvenience makes all the difference in the world. (It is also so much more rewarding and less expensive to do things yourself.) Knowing how to work on the boat can also be useful as well when unexpected things go bad and you have no one to rely on but yourself.

Welcome aboard from a fellow carrier sailor(USS Forrestal, 1962-1966). Maybe a trade is in order, my 37C for your 27. It will soon be time for me to get off the big lakes. Your boat would be perfect for the small lake where I sail my Highlander. Mine would be perfect for Michigan.

Ed, be careful what you say....I just might take you up on the offer!!! Let me see...where is the halfway point where we could meet? I'd say somewhere in northern Lake Huron???? :)
Hey, I think the old USS Bonhomme Richard (light carrier) might have been a little cousin of the Forrestal. It must have been an experience being in the 'real' Navy in the days before iPads, diversity training, and government shut-downs! Thanks for your service!

May I add my warm congratulations to the others. As you will quickly discover, there are a lot of people very enthusiastic about these boats, and you will find that any problem occurring with them has already been solved and carefully documented by other Hunter 37c owners. Happy sailing!

Bought mine in October! Recoated the mast, running rigging, some new electronics. Brought it to NJ in DEC and now getting it ready for the season. Good luck with yours, I think mine is great!
