I mainly sail solo, and my favorite ramp usually has a bit of a cross wind. Before adding the side rails it was almost impossible to get the boat on the trailer by myself. Now it's pretty idiot proof.

I got mine from www.reliablecorporation.com.

They're not cheap but the price is better than Sailrite by 3 or 4 hundred dollars, all the Sailrite parts and accessories fit it and they ship from Toronto.

As far as the sub goes, it's the Navy. The guys work for the government so they think they can park anywhere.

On a more serious note, have they opened it to the public yet? The last time I saw her, they only allowed us to look from the outside since they were still dry-docking her.
Your not kidding! I'm going to put a few more miles on my Singer...

Yes the sub is open now. It's $18.50/ adult and $12.50/ age 6-12. to go on the guided tour. For $5 they let you walk around the outside.
Parking is free! So far...
I did a quick video from outside the fence... Here http://youtu.be/DbBlullV_KM

Hey Frank ware did you get your sewing machine from? I'm using an old Singer Stylist. It works... I went shopping today for a new outboard for the newest member of the fleet. (Siren 17) I picked up an old Elgin 2 hp that is older than me but looks to be in better shape... You guys can judge that one. I also found a submarine. Someone just left it on the lawn in Port Burwell...
They finally got that sub to Port Burwell - cool. We donated to that project a few years go...

So today I added the strut mod to the pop up on the Mac. Works great and the parts cost was under $50. Much cheaper than the hernia operation I was going to have to get if I kept trying to lift that sucker. I also cut some of the bolts on the inside to get the roof ready for either enclosure or painting and coated some new hatch and dropboard rails in epoxy. Hopefully, I'll have those on by Wednesday night. Since winter has finally decided to take a hike until later this year, I was also able to pump out the 8" of water in the bilge (includes the 4-5" covering the floor). Sometime during this past winter, the hatch moved open about 4" and all that lovely snow we were getting piled up inside and turned into a skating rink. It finally melted enough today to pump most of it out. I also put a bar and hasp on the top dropboard and main hatch today so this doesn't happen again. One thing I am totally sure of is that the hull doesn't leak a drop ;). Hindsight has also shown me that saving a few bucks by not covering it for the winter is false economy. I have a Reliable sewing machine (Sailrite knockoff) and plan to make a cover for her for this winter. Maybe if Sumner will let me, I'll hit Ruth up for some pointers. :D Anyhow, that's how I spent the first dry, plus temperature weekend this year. Frank
Can you post pics of your strut mod? I'm curious how you mounted them - have seen several different methods. I bought a pair of struts last fall and have not installed the yet. Last summer the poptop fell and gave my wife a concussion - not good.

A good memory anniversary.. I used to rent a slip at a Denver res (Cherry Creek) for the month of April only and it was on the way home from work so I would often stop by and finish the work day on the boat. I would also make sure to spend the full moon of that month on the boat. And.. hanging out at a marina is just a good thing to do. I had put up these pictures five years ago and forgot they were there.. I think I did this for about three years in a row. Hopefully this views as a slide show

I saw the snowflakes and I thought to myself, "Ahh, summer in Canada."

You know it isn't spring,.... there's no construction crews looking to dredge the harbour.

Yesterday I got to work building a mold for the Laz hatch on my 26D. I used wax to fill the holes from the hinges and the lock. Then I put packing tape down on my work table where I was going to get gel-coat on it. I then waxed the cover and tape 4 times with Carnauba wax.
Then black gel-coat. (I did some repairs on the DB as well with regular resin and then the left over black gel-coat.)(The colour is just colour added to regular resin.)
Today:
I popped it out of the mold, I think the cover came out great!
I also used some body filler to fix a few imperfections on the DB and sanded it down. Then waxed it 2 times... Then had to put Squeaky to bed...
I'll get the gel-coat and a couple layers of cloth on one side of it tomorrow.
Here are some photos:
I also saw a butterfly! It flew right by my work area.

with the warm weather and an evening free, i hauled some work lights out to the boat and started on this spring's projects.
built a little bracket and installed my main pos and neg terminals;
cut out the fiberglass panel where i will install my switch/fuse panels, battery meter, ammeter, bilge pump switch, and one of the interior speakers for the stereo;
installed one LED light in the fwd captain's cabin and taped up another to check how the lights would fill the space - turns out i got 4 "white" and 1 "warm white" fixtures. the warm white is much more pleasing and cozy... ill order some more of them and see where i can use these other bluish white lights;
and i installed a large display atomic clock in the galley - right above the sink so i can see the time from the cockpit.

"...in the fwd captain's cabin...?

We either have different boats or different wives.

Ha... Well hopefully both are different...
But after removing the head and extending the fwd berth backwards, we decided it was no longer a berth, but a cabin. And the memory foam mattress makes it more comfortable than the aft ... So Captain's Cabin. :D

Finally got the trees in the back yard trimmed so I could bring the 26S home. Now that she's here, it's time for the work to begin! Hopefully I can get it done fairly soon so I can get out on the water!

I brought Transition home and power washed it inside.
Now the work begins!
A bunch of gel-coat repairs including the misc. holes from a PO.
Install; electronics, head and pump out, battery boxes, panel, gas struts on the pop top. ETC.
It will be an interesting ballet of moving the boat while my neighbour has a pool installed using our lane way for access. He mentioned yesterday that he'd put it in his driveway when the guys needed in. (I think it will mostly stay in his driveway while I work on it... I think he'll figure that out the first time they move it.)
The last picture shows our house on the R and his garage on the L. His garage is bigger than our house! Nicer too.

In the category of "this is only remotely related to my Mac since there is a lake in the pictures.."

This weekend, I moved the chiminea from the spot in the first picture (taken last week) to the spot in the second picture. This is basically moving it accross a three acre lot but there was a lot of vertical involved - and this thing is HEAVY.

Some ice fishing still going on (you can see the huts off in the distance in the picture where the dog is getting a drink)- hope these guys know what they are doing which is likely.. I walked out on the ice a little myself (been on this ice for many years so know the risk, thank you for your concern)

FYI, the peak in the last picture is Mount Princeton elevation 14196.

I added a turn buckle to the back stay to ease the mast raising process.
