Daysaailing today at Marina del Rey, CA

To all of my ice-bound sailing brethren, we had a beautiful daysail today in Marina del Rey, CA. Not much wind but we left the harbor and ocean sailed for about an hour. The temperature was 80 degrees so there were lots of boats out but the powerboats and jet-skis weren't too obnoxious.

Nice. Today and yesterday were perfect between Oceanside and Dana Point. Nice wing on wing sail for several hours yesterday.

It was a beautiful day in Marina del Rey. The water was very calm, and unfortunately so was the wind.. We managed to hit top speeds of 2.8 knots.

It looks as though one of our local derelict boats, anchored off Playa Del Rey, finally washed ashore.

Had a good sail Thursday & Friday Saturday rain, Sunday cold and very windy. But spring is on the way-I Hope.

Derelict

It looks as though one of our local derelict boats, anchored off Playa Del Rey, finally washed ashore.

I saw the derelict also and there was an article in The Log about derelicts in Marina del Rey. One problem is that the lien sales are not publicized.

Next time you're out at MdR, give a shout out to us on the Windrose, our 18' Laguna. It's the only one there I think.
