Any marine store in Cologne, Germany

Found this in Strasbourg: http://www.accastillage-diffusion.com/magasins/AD-Strasbourg-2131.html (Acastillage is French for rigging.) The best deals may be for stuff from Wichard, if you need shackles and such. They're generally pretty pricey in the US. Otherwise, the European websites I come across usually have people complaining about the high prices there and they keep trying to figure out how to get gear from West Marine or other US suppliers because it is so much cheaper. If you can figure out how to get the TVA refunded you might come out about even. Bauhaus looked like a Home Depot/Ikea home improvement store from what I saw on their website. Do they have a Marine section?

When I was in Rome at the coast, found a store called "Dimensionne Mare" that was just like West Marine. Maybe there's an equivalent or it's a part of a chain in the north countries.

Last Time I was in Trier
I remember some sort of marine store near a marina along the Rhine. We were trying to get to Wal-Mart at the time so I did not pay much attention. The marina was all power boats. We could not believe there was a Wal-Mart in Trier and one of the other guys needed a battery for his camera so we went. It was awfully surreal all of the same Chinese crap right down to the packaging and the same Wal-Mart crowd they were just speaking German. There was a way of getting around the VAT Tax but I forget what it was now. It was also before the EU so that may be different as well.
If you have time one of the river cruises is well worth the time. I enjoyed so much sitting on the deck drinking wine and watching the castles pass by. I could have done that for days.
