Hello:
I am having trouble finding a new solenoid or the part that you place the light in of my forward running light. Is not making good contact and the one in the back turns on but I have to nudge it or tap it to get it to turn on>
Any recommendations and where can I find the forward part?

You mean the contacts. If the light itself is good (no corrosion) and it is just the metal contacts have grown weak over time then just adjust them.

They are built with a pre-set tension to them so as to keep constant contact with the light or a battery. Over time, this tension stretches the contacts out. Just bend it a bit. It should be just copper or tin or some combination.

If this doesn't work, just some aluminum foil to bridge the gap.

Another issue is that sometimes the spring behind the contacts gets corroded and sticks. A spray of WD-40 will often fix this.

Clean the contacts with a emory board. Steal it from your wife.

Better idea, maybe, would be to use an eraser on the end of a pencil. The emory board tends to remove the protective coating from the contacts.

Some electrolytic grease down in the socket can help once you've cleaned the contacts. You can pick up a small tube from your local auto parts place for $5.

If, for whatever reason, you can't get the contacts clean, or bend them so that they are always tight enough, then maybe you've got a good excuse to get some new LED fixtures from Hella or Aqua Signal :D
