We sold our O'Day272, tiller steering, with a Raymarine ST1000, which did a great job. Since we loved the first 272 we bought another, with wheel steering and no autohelm. We've been looking for reviews on the new Raymarine EV-100 and there don't seem to be any--yet.
So the question is- Anyone out there have one? Have a friend with one? Any comments, pro or con would be appreciated.

Think spring. It's way overdue in the mid-west.

I've got the EV100 with a wheel pilot. It's head and shoulder above the previous Raymarine offering. Has a different compass that works, the actuation of the helm has vaiable speeds and the P70 control head is comprehensive and easy to use.

The only trouble I've had is interfacing the system with the rest of my raymarine instuments. I've used the raymarine converter to interface the older Seatalk protocol with the newer Setalk ng protocol. This allows the EV100 to interact with the C80 plotter and ST60 instruments. Unfortunately this caused the EV100 to overreact to heading changes and compensate too much when on track causing the wheelpilot to work unecesarily hard. Haven't got to the botton of that one yet so have disabled the network converter for the moment and it works fine.
