Hunter Passage 42 St Andrews Scotland
Hello I live in Scotland with my Passage 42 Casper. It is difficult in the UK to get certain items for Hunter Yachts. I am looking for a used set of Davits and, I am without cushions for the aft deck in blue material, to match the cockpit cushions. Have I put this post on the correct forum?

Regards to everyone, Bill

We offer the cushions here:

The davits are custom to the boat, so that may be a hard thing to find used.
Hello, I was very surprised when my phone told me I had a message from Hunter Owners so soon, amazing!! Thank you for answering. I do have a set of Simpson D100 but, I have seen some of the USA Hunters with some lovely tubular stainless davits, some with solar panels mounted and a couple with wind turbines also either side and attached to the davits. I will have a look at the link you sent me for cushions. Thank you once more.

Any davits in the USA/Canada I could look into postage cost to get them across the Atlantic

Davits Passage 42

http://www.katomarine.com/saildavits.htm. I'm not fond of the style but Kato Davits are very popular here in the states. I believe they are easy to ship.
Yes thank you. I have began to look into both makes and they are the ones I have seen in photos that look very smart. Sadly to buy new they will cost me an arm and a leg including shipping. I will keep my eyes open for a used set or even have someone over here design some for me along the lines of the two makes suggested.

Thank you, Bill Smurth

Does the tide ebb and flow that much all the time or is there another reason you are setting in the mud. Sorry for jumping the thread but the picture is amazing.

Passage 42 Stuck In The Mud

Good question

The east coat of Scotland has some beautiful small fishing harbours which mostly dry out. There are a couple of marinas in the area but they are an hour and more from my home. One in Edinburgh, the other Peterhead. St Andrews is famous for its golf and is only ten minutes from my house but, it dries out. I spoke with the harbour master and showed him a picture of Caspers keel. He said no problem we will get an excavator in and move some mud about. Casper was dried out on a sandy part of the harbour that day in the picture (ideal for antifouling) while they made a bed of mud for her. Please see the attached pictures showing the excavator having moved tons of mud and dug out a keel hole. A few days later in the next picture, Casper is sitting up straight in a lovely bed of mud after the tide has gone out. St Andrews Harbour Trust has a Facebook which is open to anyone, take a look.

Regards, Bill S
