Hi I have a painted stripe on the side of my boat that i want to remove without damaging the gelcoat. Can I use a heat gun and be careful or is there a better solution like some kind of paint remover ? I thought remover
might be bad for gelcoat ? Any suggestions !

easy off oven cleaner will remove most paint, unless its something special. it wont hurt the gelcoat a bit.
i have also used paint remover on top of gelcoat with good results, but I would recommend you spot check first, as whatever you may use, may be different than what I have used.
I generally buy the quickest, harshest and nastiest stuff i can find, cuz i want it to work RIGHT NOW....

easy off oven cleaner will soften most paints, and a bit of gentle rubbing with a rag will wipe the paint away. if you spray it on and let it sit for 5 minutes, it will work better.

Are you sure it is paint. My boat (Catalina25) stripes are gelcoat.

Yes I'm sure cause I did painted it myself over the old stripe with the adequate paint but I painted too large and one part of it keep removing every
year so I will remove the excess. Thanks
