Hi all

I've ordered a 0 degree tilt transducer to replace my old depth sounder

Did I do the right thing?

Where my transducer is located just in front of the keel I don't see any rise / angle change an I'm pretty sure that old airmar from the 90's has no tilt

Someone give me some good news!

i think they are all no tilt.
is it a permanent mount or hole mount? if hole is the diameter of the new unit the same as the old? if not is the diameter of the hole the new one takes the same or larger than the old. a smaller hole is a lot easier to deal with then a larger one.

Permanent mount or hole? Can you elaborate a little please Bill - in my head they are both pretty permanent lol

Its going to be larger than the raymarine depth sounder in there now - whilst shes out of the water being repaired I'm going to have the yard install it.

If the area in front of the keel is flat then a 0 degree is what you want...

Thank you Maine Sail

Its flat

I feel better :)
If you were on the rounded part of the hull that exceeded 8° then you would need to choose a tilted element unit...

Usually they are sold as:

0° = 0° > 8° Deadrise
12° = 12° > 15° Deadrise
20° = 20° > 24° Deadrise
