dixiedawg (and family) and I decided to hit the water today... and since it isn't hard I figured I would share the day with those of you with hard water! today was my first time to single hand, so I have no pictures from aboard Serenity

the morning started off with little wind, so Daydream used the iron genny to catch up to me

while waiting for the wind Carlotta decided to get some shade, and who knows what Gene was doing??

finally the wind picked up a little and we were sailing

Carlotta must have noticed that the rubrail was dirty and asked Gene to wash it off!!

Overall it was a GREAT day to sail (minus loosing the windex somewhere on the road and getting a ticket for no tag on the trailer). found out that I can control the boat at 35* heel... oops haha, and somewhere beyond that it will round up into the wind on its own regardless of what I do (or don't do)... I would say my first single hand attempt was a success!!

Great Photos Hawk!

I have to add to the thread, it was a great day for sailing, we were able to fly our spinnaker which was just to much fun. The ladies were a little cool but I found it perfect.

How often you go out in the middle of July?
Higgs I can answer that for New Orleans, every Wednesday and almost any clear night from first quarter to third quarter moon. BTW August is the real hot month but the same applies.

I don't sail at all in the summer.... yet.... I just bought the boat a couple of months ago so I haven't had the chance yet. I can tell ya though that if I don't put the boat in a marina I might not sail to much in the summer, 30 minutes working at the ramp will got hot fast!!!

I would be also. i don't do ice or snow. I do think that you guys have some of the best cursing areas to be found, I have it easy down here. No tide or current ,to mention. I have a big lake to play on and just have to avoid a few racing buoys and a big long bridge. One of my biggest problems is trying to dock at all the seafood restaurants on my way back to the slip.

Wow, GREAT pics, David! Right click, save! Carlotta says we may not know who the best sailor is, but we durn sure know who the best photographer is!

We came up with almost squat with our dumbphones. We own a dusty old Nikon D70, next time we'll bring it. I'm very skilled with it in the "AUTO" mode. :D

This was the morning calm. Wish I had some pics of you burying the rail in the afternoon!

We were also out yesterday in East TN with 57 degrees and around 10kn of wind. First mate was cold the whole time but to me it was perfect. Only one other sailboat was out.
