A dear friend of mine inherited a Trojan 25 that is in need of some repair. Having been down this road myself I have offered to help out with the extensive list of things this boat needs to be brought back to good condition. I have had the opportunity to take this family out on YOT and expose them to sailing. The question is, do I lose credibility as a sailor for working on a motor boat? :eek:

Of course not. I am one who feels this animosity between the 2 styles of boating are unproductive and unnecessary.

No credibility lost so long as the repairs include trying to sneak a mast onto his go-fast. :naughty:

I've always felt there were three types of boats;
Sailboats
powerboats
boats that pay their own way
First two are fun for their particular purposes, like I'd rather fish marlin on a power boat, but the third is the best boat anyone could have, even if it's the ugliest thing in the marina.
As a kid, I knew an old man who had a motorsailor designed as a salmon troller; the most perfect boat I've ever seen.
