I saw the same ad. From what I can tell, the pin appears to be captive. it appears to retract with a twist and re engage by twisting in the opposite direction.
Good Idea but not inexpensive if you need a bunch.

Whoa Nellie! Just checked the prices! I'll stick with what I got and deal with the aggravation of poor up-close eye sight while threading the lock rings! I'll buy better reading glasses!

Whatever happened to the KISS theory? I can only imagine trying to get them apart after a year or two of sailing w/o a fresh water and soap wash down every time you sail. And for most of us, how often do you pull out your clevis pins? Perhaps for those who put their mast up every time they sail?

Think I'll stick to using cotter rings. Quicker, cheaper and KISS.

Noticed this many times in product devement.
(1) what problem are you trying to solve
(2) why is the solution better
(3) what is the cost

My opinion:
(1) there is no problem with existing solution
(2) the new design is very dangerous because the little ridge on tge pin held by spring is not secure enough. You can also loose the pin overboard easily
(3) how's it going to price against the existing solurion

At $35-$45 per clevis pin and easy to remove what's the rip off factor. I'd hate to come back to the boat and find all the clevis pins removed. One could only hope the rig was still standing which might be a problem with a deck stepped mast.

In situations where I need to frequently remove the clevis pin, I use a push pin. Otherwise, I use cotter pins.

i am still not over that one havent had a good coke sence that happened.....

I'll stick with a toggle pin for the headstay that I have to take off when stepping the mast. No parts to lose available hear at the chandlery.

Go to Kroger or similar in East Atlanta Area. Ask clerk for Spanish food section. Find Coke in bottles. Take home and chill to 38 degrees. Drink neat, no ice.
Oh, and read ingredients...
NO fructose corn syrup... Real Sugar.
