I just closed on a Hunter 460.. I need to change the bulbs in a few of the over head lights. I just can't figure out how to access the bulbs. They are round maybe 2 inches across.

Thanks for any directions you can provide.

The plastic ring around the light pops off. Use a small knife blade and gently work around the ring. Be careful when the ring comes off as the frosted glass is only held in by gravity.

I would strongly suggest using the LEDs while you are there...much lower power needs, and better light.

Best of luck, and enjoy!!

I would like to but they seem to be very expensive: $23-$33 each...
If you know a place with a better price it would be great.

Make sure the ones you buy are good for 13.5 volts. They cost about $3 each rather than $1.

I would concur with the advice to go with LED throughout (~8 fold decrease in power draw). When choosing bulbs, in addition to the good advice already provided, I would also recommend that you go with warm white LEDs. The cool white bulbs seem a bit brighter but will make you feel that you are in a clinic awaiting a procedure rather than being in your place of joy. I have tried out both and I would only ever put warm white in my boat.

I replaced all of the puck light bulbs with 10LED warm white G4 bulbs from MarineBeam.com. I avoided the Chinese stuff that is much cheaper. The posts need to be trimmed a bit to fit the wafer into the fixture, but it's been a huge improvement in power draw and light in the cabin. They were about $15/wafer.
