Will, I've found my 8 HP Honda uses very little fuel. It appears to be the trend with the newer four stroke outboards. I use the factory supplied external tank, and have found it to be more than adequate.

If you are to go on a week cruise, you can always tie an extra container to the lifelines.

I also have the same question concerning the line lengths listed in the downloads for my boat. They seem to be very long, compared to what I have on the boat. I'm new to the Hunter scene, but I believe I'll use a combination of what I have and some common sense to sort out my new line lengths, when I need them. As example, I believe the downloads say 70 feet for my jib sheets, on a 22 foot boat. Tied in the middle that gives me 35 feet on each side. I could fly wing on wing with a whisker pole and still have 10 feet in the floor. I'd love to have input from others concerning this info. And I may have my numbers slightly off above, but the order of magnitude is right.

The jib halyard length is used for stepping the mast. The jib halyard attaches to the pole angling from the foot of the mast to the anchor attachment point in the anchor locker

I was speaking of the tank Tohatsu supplies with the motor. My Honda has a tank ( Honda written on it ) and that was my reference point.

I don't know about any tank that Hunter put in the boats. I guess I've seen some specs before about tank size in the boat, but in my boat, an H22, I have the external tank under the seat where Hunter made some space for it ..

Generally speaking, one of the smallest is a 3 or 3 1/2 gallon tank which should fit just fine. Small outboards particularly the Tohatsu do not use that much fuel. Even the four strokes use less. Since you are in Scotland, I am not sure if you have straight gas or what we use in the U. S. which is ethanol. If ethanol, make sure that you use the additives to combat that but either way when you turn off your engine, let the fuel run out so none is left in the carburetor. Remember fuel is an oil byproduct and if left in the carburetor, it will eventually clog the fine jets in the carburetor.

What I would suggest that you do since I do not have the boat in front of me is to simply measure the area where the extra gas would go and look at what you can order to fit. As for the top seller of this boat, I wish I could remember but I am what the younger generation would call an OLD FART.

Hunter 23.5 Pensacola
I have a 1995 23.5 and had to replace my tank this past summer because my old one had been stolen from my garage (where ironically I thought it would be safer than on the boat). I purchased a 6 gallon tank because I believed it was the size that had gone missing. It turned out that I was mistaken.... The old tank was definitely a 3 gallon, but the 6 does fit, so I've kept it. It's a snug fit, no space left in the port lazarett for anything else, and I don't know how different the 23.5 is from the 240 in this respect, but thought my experience might help with your decision.
