Ok, first of all I like going to Florida and being part of the winter invasion problem
although actually we have been late the last two years and had to endure some of that summer heat also with the locals.
Most of the Florida guys posting on here live there and have homes there and can pick and choose which days they go out so be aware that if you are going down there for the winter and living on the boat anchored out away from an extension cord it can get cold in Florida.
Our first trip down we got there just before Thanksgiving and couldn't do much the first couple days as we left 20-30 deg. weather at home in the dry west and arrived there in mid 80's and it took a couple days to acclimate for us. Then 3 weeks later we stayed ashore at Jensen's on Sanibel for a couple nights as a cold front went thru. Then a week later we were back anchored out and it was in the low 30's (this is all on the west coast by Port Charlotte) and in the low 40's in the boat at night. . Then last March we got to the boat in the yard and though we had left a number of blankets, but hadn't and froze the first night with low 40's in the boat. Went and bought a space heater and more blankets the next day. Still used the space heater at night for another week or so.
So the moral of the story is if you are going down there Dec. to March and think it is going to be in the 80's every day and the 60's at night you might want to rethink that and take some winter cloths with you or stay in a slip with electricity and a space heater or buy a home down there and go out on the good days and post pictures here with no shirt on and make the rest of us feel miserable
