I just recently rebuilt my anchor windlass and would like to know what oil is best to use for the gearbox

Their manual is somewhat less than helpful.
Seeing as how the internals are relatively slow moving but with heavy force, you might want to look at a heavy gear oil. Watch for compatability if you have any non metallic seals in the gear box.
