This spring I want to mount my new Lowrance chartplotter to the binacle guard on my '85 Hunter 31. It should be simple, but i wondered if there's any advice out there,

Mount It so it swivels and tilts so you can control the reflections of sun and off the water.

Here's a pix of the backside of my chartplotter mounted on a wood base attached to a lock-block on the binnical hoop. It can swivel side-to-side and tilt to be seen seated or standing. The lock-block premits it to be removed when not in use or when away from the boat.

Years ago I build a fully adjustable mount for my Raymarine radar display. It was meant to be "temporary" until I had time to build something more esthetically pleasing.

In the true spirit of "What is forever is temporary and what is temporary is forever", I used this mount for 12 years. The mount clamped around the pedistal guard and the manufacturer's U-mount attached to it.

Perhaps you can make something like this if you can't find a ready-made mount that you like.

I made a simple mount for my Garmin Chartplotter. Fits on top of my pedestal, but I don't know if it will work for you
