I saw a TV preacher selling food for a year and a half to prepare for the up coming disasters we face (according to the TV preacher). he was telling his listeners / followers that they needed to be prepared for when the grid goes down and food gets scarce. $500 for 1.5 years of food, all freeze dried / dehydrated. It had food, deserts, and drinks.
It made me think about when I get ready to go cruising and need to provision. I had to live on MREs while in the military. While it was life sustaining it was not the healthiest way to eat (calories/sodium). But i wondered.........do any cruisers carry freeze dried dehydrated meals onboard? Is it a simple way to provision without worry of spoilage? Does anyone do it and if so please comment.
