It's interesting that G&S would SELL copies of the polars, most designers (Finot, Farr, etc) have always made them publicity available. They want ALL their boats to be quick.

Maybe, I know for the sure Finot VPPs have always been free. Not sure when Farr started but they have been free for a long time as well. But Finot designed boats with them; you get the sense that G&S got the program after most of the boats were already designed and on the water, and they went BACK, modeled the boats in the software, and ran the VPP. Maybe someone justified the computer and SW cost to their boss with the story they could sell the plots. Who knows???It was a while ago, so maybe things were done differently at the time?
