Thanks, but I've no more "founded" the place than Columbus founded the Americas.
Perhaps, just one day a year, you could remember me? :D

Last week on PBS there was a show about how the Hawaiian Islands (and any other volcanic islands) are formed. The scary point that they were making was the volcanic flow comes to rest on the sea bed- SAND. And, sooner or later the weight of the island will bear enough on the sand that the island will break off an slide back into the sea- probably causing a massive tsunami that would hit the Americas. The pictures of a mountainside calving off like an iceberg are a preview of coming attractions for Hawaii. True, it may be thousands of years away, but, still... be advised, and plan ahead !

Have to watch that... :D
I'm pretty sure it was on the "Nova- how the earth works" show- Hawaii. The picture showed a wooded hillside, and there were two sections, one after the other, that just dropped down -like calving, exposing a dirt wall about 11 feet high. So, the first cut has dropped away twice. It is the SE part of the big island of Hawaii that is the worst-case scenario, that part facing mid and south American continents. Otherwise, the Hawaii coast pretty much faces/threatens the entire America's coastine with a catastophic tsunami.

Forgive the confusion, but when I typed "have to watch that", I meant "We'd better be careful". ;)
