Does anybody know what the power ratio is on a Maxwell 25 ST? It is 2 speed so I would like both but the lower is really what I am interested in. I am wanting to upgrade because my Max 25's are a bit light for the big winds in SF bay but I need some basis for comparison. Lewmar numbers their winches per the power ratio on the lowest gear but I do not think the Maxwell number means the same thing. See what I'm saying?

It's very easy to measure the mechanical advantage.
1 Measure the length of the winch handle.
2 Double the handle length and multiply by 3.14.
3 Measure the length of line retrieved in one complete rotation of the handle.
4 Divide number 3 into number 2.
The result is the mechanical advantage or power ratio.

Yes, It is a 10" handle. I assume the power ratio's listed for Lewmar and others is based on a 10" handle.
