hello

it is 47 degrees now and is expected to get down to 36 tonight....

where my wife lives right now it is 92 degrees... in the winter it gets down to 60 degrees and in the summer it gets to 112 degrees... she has never seen snow, nor seen the rain freeze in the rain storm... when she gets here next month, she will have a rude awakening to the types of weather we have here... I have to get her some extremely cold weather clothing for her to wear...

but she s eager to get here to be with me...

sincerely
Jess

hello all

she tells me she love me a whole lot... she is giving up her country to be here and become an American... she will be here in December... she is from china... we were married in china over a year ago, but the American government does not recognize our Chinese marriage certificates... so we will get married in January again.... she named our sailboat 'Xing Fu', which translates into 'happiness' or 'happy boat' ....

sincerely

Winter is best sailing around here. It got down to 39 or so a couple of days ago, but was in short sleeves by the next day. Fall/winter brings northerly winds, less chance of afternoon T-storms, and best of all smaller waves on my side of the lake. We've had some gorgeous days here in the 60's-70's with northerly breezes that make for smooth sailing along the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. It gets cold here, but it only lasts a few days usually, and then back to 60's. Summer is brutally hot and most sailing is after dark for me.

hello all

here winter freezes the lakes over with ice... all the boats are on the hard at our marina now... the frames built over them and the shrink wrap is done too... some guys build the frame larger than the boat and work on their boats in the winter... mine gets wrapped up and will wait for spring so I can work on her then...

I do not like the cold, so I tend to not work on my boats n the winter. unless the weather is above 60 degrees...

in the picture I am getting ready to tow it home for the winter... when I get it home, I will tarp it until spring...

sincerely
Jess

It doesn't make sense to me. How can you snowshoe or ski with such warm temperatures. Anything white just seems to turn to water. In winter if you climb, there usually isn't anyone around outside your party. Of course where we live it's an hour or less between the boat and the mountains. I do love a cool breeze when we get a sunny day. A sail like that is a great way to relax. Just dress for it. We're 48 degrees North and were warmer than some places in Florida this week.
