What boat is it?

I originally posted these pics in the MacGregor forum. I'm looking for a trailer and the seller wants me to take the boat and the trailer as a package deal. Can anyone tell what the boat is?

If you stand behind the boat and look at the stern, in the upper right corner there should be a HIN (Hull Identification Number).

From the HIN, you can get the MIC (Manufacture Identification Code) which will tell you who built the boat.

Have you asked the seller this question? It will be on the registration if he doesn't know what kind it is.... but tell me this: what can the seller do with the boat if he sells the trailer only. If you could solve that problem for him you may be able to purchase the trailer.......... but frankly, a trailerable sailboat loses quite a bit of value without a trailer.

That is definately an Oday 22. It is also a 1978 or earlier model which had the shoal keel. Had one, great boat, poor to windward.

Sometimes Craigslists boat ads are scams, especially if the boat is an out-of-towner.
