I was just up at Branson and looking at Table Rock,
i could not help but think what a great place to sail if there is any others.
Face it we all like to meet other sailors and talk shop etc. (at least I do )
But it seems that sailing information on Table Rock does not google very well.

So I thought I would ask here, its only 100 miles from the house and a place the wife to visit.

So is there any opinions out there?

Table Rock is a nice clean lake. There used to be lots of water ski boats and jet skis but it's been a few years since we boated there in the summer. But no reason a trailer sailer would not be welcome. Sometimes the high shore line areas can cause funny swirls in the wind so be alert to sudden wind shifts.

I grew upon that lake and yes it's great for sailing. Bridge height and power lines could be an issue. That being said there are plenty of sailors on that lake, and lots of quiet coves to anchor in.

I think we were spoiled in Kansas of all places. We took our Day Sailor down twice from
Wichita as my parents had built a great home there with a dock...both times, there was almost no wind....certainly not enough to sail very far. There are few sailboats at
Indian Creek Marina but many of them just sit there not being sailed. We sailed to Rock Lane Lodge from Little North Indian Creek and because of the light winds, missed the family luncheon at Rock Lane....On a positive note, I have to believe that if the you were there all the time, you would have many more opportunities to sail. It's just not a place to pull a boat for a limited weekend sailing trip..We also took our 22 for a week long sailing trip to Wheel House Marina & Resort in Lake of the Ozarks...there we had nearly the same experience, but we did successfully sail after dark when the big motor yachts went in after say, 9 p.m.....but again, very variable winds....Think about Grand
in Oklahoma or Keystone west of Tulsa off of Interstate 44....just my thoughts. Patrick

Took my little Dolphin Senior (similar to Sunfish)there years ago for a week long family vacation. Never enough wind to sail. Otherwise it's a beautiful, clean lake for power boating, swimming, and fishing

Beaver close by & nice too

Beaver Lake is just sw of Table Rock. Very similar water quality and a little more open water with less ski traffic. More remote which can be good or bad depending on what you are wanting.

I actually bought a Watkins 23 from a fellow with a Beneteau (sp) 40 on Beaver lake he spent a few hours on the lake teaching me the basics on it.
Wonderful gentleman to visit with and we enjoyed every minute of it.

I was actually looking towards two birds with one stone, you know something the wife enjoys in the evenings and something I wanted to do during the day.
She enjoys the sailing too to a point but not like I do. It always seems like its time to go home to soon.
