WOW, Impressive stuff.

I wonder how it holds up. Does it wear off with time or contact? How about in sunlight (like at the water line)?

Can't say I would use it on my clothing, but for a boat, even a dink might be very positive! Cost per coverage area?

What about biminis, dodgers and foul weather clothing, bilge. Seems like if this stuff is UV resistant, it would find uses just about everywhere on a boat.

I'm going to keep my eyes open for this stuff.

If any of these products had any use in an anti fouling application, you can bet the manufacturers would advertise it as such. But they don't.

Fiberglass is supposed to be one of the surfaces it can be used on. However I wonder if it is compatible with bottom paints. Some posts on the forum have been touting the usefulness of Rustoleum as a bottom paint. I suppose the downside is that it has no biocidal qualities. Perhaps in combination with Neverwet could be a winning solution.

I am one of those who use Rustoleum on the bottom of my boat... BUT I am a trailer sailor and don't keep my boat in the water for extended periods of time. So I don't need biocides in my bottom paint. I doubt it is a good choice for everyone.

I think every decision has a trade-off. I didn't like getting the chalky stuff on my skin every time I bumped into the bottom of my boat (especially swimming) and I didn't see a need for it anyway. I guess that if I ever decide to keep my boat in a slip, I'll need to reconsider the bottom paint issue.

heh, heh, you'll save some money and time if you pause to read the label first. Teaches you to go to the source if you have a question. Anyway, until that revelation I was going to put some on the bottom of my shoes so I could walk on water!

Although the video touts the product for fabric, the review said that it made fabric kind of stiff and not necessarily 100% waterproof. So I wonder to what extent it stiffens fabric and whether it is a good product for sail/winch/rail covers or dodgers and biminis? What about the plastic window on the dodger?
Also what about using it as a sort of sealer [not a replacement for but in addition to bedding or caulking] in places not subject to abrasion, such as around ports?

This stuff has been tried on snowmobiles under the tunnels and on running boards etc to lessen ice build up.

As a matter of fact if you research what the manufacturer claims its made for and read reviews it hardly meets satisfaction from users for what it is intended..
