376 Jiffy Reefing of Mainsail

Our 376 has single line reefing which has a great deal of resistance when trying to reef. I notice that the blocks attached to the sail become twisted so the line is rubbing against itself. Suggestions to prevent his from happening. Also, i'm considering removing the blocks fron the sail and just going with reef hooks.
at the luff reefing point. Has anyone done this ? I would appreciate any modifications you have done to decrease resistance when furling. It seem unsafe to not be able to efficiently furl the 376 "monster"main Thank you

I have been through this extensively with our 94 Vision 36. We have the Isomat boom with the single line reefing system. After three years of re rigging and messing with it, I discovered that it was never rigged correctly from the factory. I finally came across the correct rigging diagram from Isomat via Rig Rite. Isomat is out of business. It was a simple fix of adding the missing blocks at the bottom of the mast and re routing the reef lines.

Our reefing works great now. I just need a stack pack.

I installed these on my 40 main sail to reduce friction on the reefing lines.

It works! There are two other Visions at Marina Bay rigged like this and they have no complaints. Have you ever removed your boom cap?
