It might be worth an email to set this guy straight.

As I often search the boat ads much like everyone else I know who sails, I occasionally come across an ad that gets my back up. This is one of them, as this individual has decide that by disparaging Hunters he has a better chance of selling his boat. I emailed him my thoughts and hope he gets the message, moron!

From the Ad; "Unlike a Hunter, this one-owner ocean cruising sailboat is built for performance and comfort on the high seas." **

He probably put that in there to get more ad hits, as you've just done for him...;);)

Now if he said Canadian Sailcraft I wouldn't have bothered because they were built for Lake Ontario waters so who's to argue. ;-)

I really don't understand the point of the original post. You don't like what the guy says about Hunter's but then post a link to his ad here on a very well read site that will give him many more ad hits. My point is that you are helping the buffoon, not hurting his cause...

People like the guy who wrote that ad won't be swayed by emails from Hunter owners because they are, well, ignorant... They also post stuff like that to purposely get under the skin of others. Just go over to CF and read the Hunter threads and you'll see the buffoons are not in short supply...

And a comment like that would put you in the same camp as the guy you want folks to send emails too. Nothing could be further from the truth. (I suspect you know that, having posted emoticon text that did not work and one can only guess at)..

no idea why I am adding to this but the Hunter comment is not as interesting to me as the price of $175,000. a year of 1985 and by the salon size, I'd guess it to be somewhere in the 36-39 range size boat. I find THAT interesting.

I suspect it is a phishing ad..... No other pics of the boat other than the saloon, no brand, builder or type of construction..........?

Seriously, you took my comment as criticism about the CS boats, I guess my attempt at humour failed,no offense intended on my part.
Anyways I took him to task whether he was phishing or not, posted it more as a point of interest than anything else.

Like I said Mark the ad just pissed me off enough to email him. Seriously unless he's got one hell of a boat the market in Toronto for something that price and that year is dead, not to mention assuming it's something large like a 50' then his draft for as skinny as the water has been in recent years would be an issue if it's anything north of 6'.

Good point Main Sail. Even in my own marina where half of the boats are Hunters, I hear disparaging remarks about Hunters from non-Hunter owners. They just don't know any better. An Irwin 32 owner even commment half way through a 450 mile cruise that he was shocked that there were no problems reported from the Hunter owners (2/3s of the fleet). Incidentaly, he lost his centerboard a few years back and Awlgripped cabin top and hull.
I really don't care what another sailor sails or feel the H33C inferior or superior to another boat brand owner. I say sail what you like and like what you sail. Get out and Sail! That is the thing. I am liking/enjoying the H33C a lot and that is all that matters.
