what a beautiful tribute. So difficult to face, but what a boy he was...The love of a pet is
very special, and coping with their loss is difficult. A part of me died with our basset hound Maggie....

That is so sad but it sounds like he lived a good life and brought lots of joy to yours. What a great little mutt. Our Shamus has been with us 6 years now and also loves the boat(he has no choice). The dinghy is especially fun because it gets him to islands where he can run around and explore. He usually sings on the way to the shore which is very entertaining for others in the anchorage.

I feel your pain. Our dogs were never boat dogs as greyhounds and small boats don't mix very well. But we loved them and it broke our hearts to lose them. You don't realize how far under your skin those furry little kids burrow until they're gone. Godspeed, Max.

So sorry for your loss. I am a dog lover and can't go without these wonderful animals in my life. You can never replace a beloved animal but you can honor them by bringing another into your life, in our case we brought 2 brothers into our life and what a time it has been.

So sorry for your loss. I know what you all are going through, I had to put down our lab that was almost 15 last week. Just about killed me. We are getting better, but still miss him so much. Take care.

Faithfull Friends

This year, we've lost our yellow lab Hanna and our chocolate lab Kayla. Still have one 'rescue' that felt the loss and needed company as much as we.
So our best tribute to our good ole girls was to bring a new rescue into our hearts, saving a young life that so deserved a good home.
Please see if you have room in your home and hearts to rescue a dog who needs you.

We had the same thing happen at the end of Sept 2012 with our little Phoebe. Enlarged heart and congestive heart failure. See was a great friend.

Maybe a clone would not be a bad idea for old sailors.

I'm sorry for your loss. Its amazing how attached we can become to our canine friends. We sail with our two German Shepherds and I can't imagine how how much we will miss them when the time comes.

I wasn't up to facing people . Still not there, but getting better. 12 years 24/7 of unconditional love is hard to loose.
