Jump in to Google and search "download CM-93" or the like. You will find a few sites and have to pick one you think is OK. I make sure my virus protection is up to date.

BUT, be warned, to get the full download you need a fast connection as it's a BIG file (or set of files). I think it took me a couple of hours+, and I have a fast connection here in our shore side place. I would suggest you link direct with your computer and not use WiFi if you can.

Depending where you are, some one might already have it downloaded and you can just copy the CD?

BUT, the BEST toy that we have and USE any time we are going some place that is not VERY close is our Yeoman chart plotter. It uses a small LOW COST GPS and PAPER charts. Any paper charts can be used!

I'd like to discuss the Yeoman with you sometime. We have one built in, but I can never get it to work. I'd like to contact you for some tips, maybe sometime when we're up on the boat this summer, if you wouldn't mind.

NO PROBLEM! Contact me off the board and I will send you a phone number. We are re-rigging/re-fitting now but will be heading to the San Francisco Bay area early next month.

We will be at Pacific Sail Expo and cruising around that area for a number of months.

I sure do love my Yeoman for off shore work. I have it connected to an e-trex and it has worked very well.

Folks, just to be clear, any 'free' CM-93 downloads you may find are pirated versions, and may not be up to date, and may have a virus payload. It would be inappropriate and illegal for anyone to post a link here, sorry.

If you're boating in US waters, the NOAA electronic charts are free and up to date.

Great stuff. I've checked other forums but it's tough catching up to the guys that live this stuff. All I'm hoping to do its use some Windows based equipment I have.

Spend the $ for a nav program like Navionics.

This is all new to me but is Navionics a Navigation program? It seems like a Chart and map service. I see navigation programs that use Navionics but nothing stand alone.
