Hello. I am the newest owner of a 2003 Hunter 356. We are finding that in light winds, when we have the cars forward, our jib sheets get caught under the shroud fittings. We have taped as much as we can but we still have to go forward to pull the sheet out from under the deck fitting. Has anyone had this problem and if so, how did it get resolved.

see if you can move (by tapping the forks with a hammer) the forks inboard. If not, try filling the gap on the outside with a bit of line
I go forward and move the lines or move the chair so that the angle changes and the sheet doesn't catch (because that 0.05 knots isn't that important to me over the sheet catching and getting worn).
Get a set of Taylormade fabric with Velcro shroud covers. Get the largest size made (Defender carries them). This will quickly fix the problem and is much better than replacing rigging tape every couple of months. These covers look good and last for years.
I had the same problem on my 356. I pushed the shroud Fitting tight to the plate and added washers to the inside of the fitting. Now the fitting stays tight to the plate and the jib sheet does not hang up while tacking.
I came up with a very simple, inexpensive, and effective solution for my 1995 Legend 37.5 I don't know the geometry of the problem on the 356, but on my boat the genoa sheets would always catch on the bottom of the turnbuckle toggles until I found some 5" dia. plastic pipe at Home Depot and cut it into two 4" lengths which I then slit lengthwise so I could get them around the shrouds without de-rigging. These just lay there surrounding the turnbuckles and make it impossible for the sheets to get under any of the overhanging parts. See attached pics.
