Has anyone added an Inverter/Charger in place of the standard charger for minor 110V electrical needs? If so, do you happen to have the wiring diagram you used to set this up? I had a unit on a past boat, but the electrical was split on the 110V side so the inverter powered outlets only, and a second part of the panel powered A/C, Hot Water, and the old charger input. I am interested in making the change as part of a battery upgrade. :D

Second Part, has anyone added Solar Panels to there boat, to bring said batteries back to charge when using an inverter? If so, looking to see how you successfully set this up, and what you did to prevent over-charging the bank from the solar set up.

Thanks in advance.... Hope someone did this on a C-310 to keep development time simple.

Sometimes a general question like this is best asked in "Ask All Sailor" it see's much more traffic than the individual boards...

What items would you like to run off the inverter?

All we hoped to run from the inverter is the 800 watt microwave from time to time, and maybe just maybe the LCD TV/VCR for an hour a day.... very little 110v demand. (I know I could almost get by with the little unit that plugs into the assoc socket)

Thanks for asking - Russ
