I had the electrical panel on my 323 open today for an unrelated wiring project.
In the process, I noticed that the 12v circuit breaker for the LPG solenoid was wired rather strangely . There was a red jumper wire wrapped partially in black tape wired directly from the hot side of the breaker to the common ground bar. This does not appear to be anything more than a dead short. Since I,have never even had a propane tank aboard the boat in seven seasons, I have never even switched on that breaker. I cannot determine from the wiring diagram for the boat why this exists. My gut tells me that the jumper should be removed. Does anybody else on this site have knowledge of this circuitry?

Hold on, Doug. I had the same thing. In a different thread, I mentioned I had taken the LP lead out of the WAGO block. I was rewiring to take the LP off the breaker panel, so mounted a breaker above the locker door to the left of the nav station. In the process I found that same lead, but not sure what it's purpose is. The solenoid has been functioning perfectyl for 2 years. Maybe the factory or an electrician might tel us, but I just never bothered with it. Maybe a shunt for static protection?

I moved the LP breaker off the main panel becuase I get alot of club people on the boat, and it's better to tell them where it is now, rather than have them stick their fingers on the panel and throw the wrong breaker.

Hi guys, I'm assuming from your location that both your boats are US production. Any chance of posting a photo of your electrical panels?

Like this? Just the breaker panel? The gas is no longer on the breaker panel, as per the above post. I moved both/all of the mast lights to one breaker , then put selection switches in the ceiling panel around the mast.
