Would be nice to have A/C on our boat since it gets pretty darn hot and humid.
I suppose we could have central air installed, but not sure where to look.

Also didn't know if there are any easier solutions such as what I have seen powerboaters use which is a unit that fits over a horizontal hatch. Just not sure where to store such a thing though...

Any good ideas?

Your 32 should be big enough to install an a/c unit under one of the settees. The other plus to a unit like this is that they are reverse cycle so it'll kick over to heat on those cool/cold nights.

I will have a 16000 btu a/c for sale in the uocomming months or now if any interest. It is a webasto fcf 16000 btu come with remote and digital control pannel plus pump for water cooling. It is reverse cycle as well. It's a 2011 unit that came with the boat. If you're interested let me know.

We have one of these 16k units on our First 36.7. It is mounted under the sinks, where the trash bag now lives. You loose that, but the install is greatly simplified. All the plumbing is under that cabinet, and the one (big) cold air vent blows into the salon. See pic below.

The downside is running duct work to other cabins. Takes up a lot of space, which is lost to other purposes. On a mid-30 footer I'd just sleep with the doors open and share the coolness. Don't get a hatch unit. You will regret that forever.

I just completed installation of a 16k Flagship AC in my B331. It was a lot of work but I figure I saved close to $5000 based on the est I received from the Cruisair installers. Good start would be for you to ask around and find out what size and where Beneteau dealer installs an AC on the B321.

Thanks, Chuck.
Too bad I am in Michigan otherwise I would try and hire you since it looks like you did a very professional job!
Just curious, how many BTU's in your 331? 16,000?

Never mind....just noticed you did put 16,000 BTU's in there. I presume it is sufficient.

The most important part it's visualising and planning the ducking passage throughout the boat.

One of our friend installed a webasto heater and it took him 2.5 days for the ducking itself and most of th work was planning and little was in term of physical effort.

Good luck you may look around and search for other 321 owner with AC and try to ask them if you could look at there installation.

Regards
