I am curious to know how the transom stops are adjusted on fellow B41 owners. When fully deployed, is your transom butting against the hull (near the hinges) or are the side retaining lines preventing it from doing so? There is a lot of tension in those side lines with some adjustment possible but owner's manual does not have any details on this.

Thanks for the pic. I'll take some of mine so you get a better idea, it's hard to describe what I am seeing in words.

Best,

Damn fine looking boat. Now you made me look. I hadn't thought of adjusting. Now I'll have to find out how.

So here is a couple pics which I think speak for themselves. If you look at the close-up one, you'll see the transom is rubbing against the hull near the hinge. Today, I re-tensioned the support lines on each side of the transom and manage to get about a 1/4" of space between the transom and the hull but as soon as someone steps on the platform, the transom is rubbing against the hull. I don't think it's a huge issue but I can see wear and tear or even gel-coat damage appearing overtime. Ideally, I suppose both support lines should be taking most of the weight and prevent the transom from rubbing against the hull. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this issue.

Isn't this boat under warranty? Why hasn't Annapolis Yacht Sales (or another Beneteau dealer) fixed this problem? There is no way a poorly aligned assembly is acceptable. You will damage the boat.

I have not asked the dealer to look at it yet and before I do that, I want to check with fellow B41 owners whether I have a case or not. There is quite a bit of tension in the support lines when the transom is deployed and maybe it's normal that it butts against the hull to provide some relief...

Mine doesn't sit like that. The transom at that area doesn't seem strong enough to be a support. From what I've been able to remember, I thought the hydraulic shaft could be adjusted. I'm out of country and haven't been able to check but I will as soon as I get back.

Did the dealer ever provide you with a fix for the problem you were having with the swim platform rubbing against the transom on your Oceanis 41?
I have an Oceanis 41 that had the same problem. It got so bad that the swim platform rubbed through the gelcoat on the transom. The dealer adjusted the support lines and repaired the gelcoat. However, when an adult is coming up the swimbladder the swim platform still comes very close to the transom. My concern is this is going to be an ongoing problem.

I was told earlier versions of the transoms had problems. One of the plastic fitting broke, it was repaired by Beneteau and covered under warranty.
