Toward the end of last season, a guest saw fit to bring aboard their own bottle of Windex with ammonia (compulsive ????? 
) . It was not properly stowed, and the resulting puddle sat on my teak and holly sole for the better part of the afternoon. That area of the sole is now grey, and looks like bare teak while the rest of the sole still has whatever finish Hunter used on its 1990 models.
I saturated the bare spot with lemon oil and when the spot was still wet with oil, it looked almost like the rest of the sole, but when it dries, it reverts back to grey.
I was planning to eventually refinish the entire sole, and this spot now bumps up the schedule.
I'd appreciate recommendations on how to prep the sole in general and in particular the bare spot.
Recommendations for finishes appreciated too. I realize this is on par with asking for an anchor recommendation and I have actually done a bunch of forum surfing on the topic. I'm thinking along the lines of a gym-seal type product with a gloss finish ....
