Hunter Legend 35.5 Trenton, ON
Good Evening,

I have a Hunter 35.5 Legend with a Raymarine ST50 Wind indicator which is daisy-chained with two other instruments. The instrument is receiving power as the digital reading remains constant at a reading of "0". When I hold the "Cal" button down for 2 secs, it goes through all of the appropriate pages (i.e. brightness levels, units of measurement, etc). However, the port/starboard needle remains at the twelve o'clock position along with the reading of "0" knots for the wind.

The plug from my boat which goes to the transducer on top of the mast has four wires: green, blue, black and brown. However; the four wires coming out of my mast from the transducer are green, blue, black and yellow.

I have tried metering between each wire coming from the boat, placing the black terminal of the meter against the mast for the "shield", and I receive no readings for all wires.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with two questions:

1. How do I properly verify a reading of voltage with the meter for each of the wires coming from the boat? I did find on-line a list of expected voltages (red to shield should read 8 volts, blue to shield should read 2-6 volts, green to shield should read 2-6 volts and yellow should read 0-5 volts). I can only assume the red is the same as my black.

2. How do I go about matching up the different colored wires between the transducer and my boat?

Thank you in advance,
Rob

Have you read the installation/operations manual that came with the unit? There should be a color chart of all the wiring connects in the manual.
