The PO said my 1981 Hunter 33 has a 22 gallon tank.... John- Did you have to pull the engine to remove the tank? Ed H
I had to cut about 1 inch of the filler tube off. The tank (with a lot of jiggling, turning, twisting and a little cursing) came out through the cockpit seat hatch. It went back in a little easier.
I took the tank to a wielding shop where it was cut open, powerwashed and then sealed. There was a lot of real nasty looking goo settled on the bottom.
I had siphoned the old fuel out (approx 15-18 gals). The old fuel was donated to my auto mechanic who uses old motor oil to heat his garage.
