What do you do with a broken keel ?

Just eyeballing the keels, they all appear to be the shorter than the boat in question. Just comparing horizontal length to depth, the fins look equal in length by depth, where in the boat in question, the keel is is deeper still, even without the missing section. It also appears to have a slighly different profile.

Considering the malleble nature of lead it is most likely broken at a joint between two pieces. If it were mine and if keeping to the original spec's wasn't important. I would get out my calculator and plan an epoxy/fiber glass/carbon fiber repair. There is no doubt that adding a quarter inch of fiber reinforced epoxy to each side would be adequately strong. 200 dollars worth of material and a couple of days labor would do the job.

I want to have the boat looking like and as sound as the original. I don't see a repair sleeve giving an as good as new result.
