BoatUS wants 3 people on board while cruising mexico?

Getting info on insurance for cruising to Mexico mentioned that they want 3 people on the boat?

We planned on 2 people at all times with friends and family joining different legs but this requirement throws us a little.



This standard practice?

Personally I would not want to make my way from Seattle to SF/LA with less than 3 crew aboard and 4 would be better. 2 on watch during the night hours for a 4 hr shift. They can rotate their steering hours as required.

A call to BUS will answer the question. Have you done so yet? Let us know what you find out. ACE sells Mexican-domiciled insurance for Mexico. I have to doubt 3 are required simply because there are so many cruising Mexico as couples.

the trip to san Fran from Seattle would have 4 people on board. I feel that boat us is thinking the whole trip is going to be long passages which its not.

thread I started on cruisers forum has a ton of stuff....
